Around twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland woke up lacking electricity on the start of the week after powerful weather events passed over the state, generating strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.

Large Ice Stones and Extensive Damage

At one point on the previous day, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was forecast to be the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
